Moser Maler AG (Burgdorf)

Our story begins in 1913, the year in which the brothers Alfred, Johann and Karl Moser scraped together their savings and opened their own painting business in a simple shack in Oberburg. They were young and determined, had a flair for color, and trusted that solid craftsmanship was in demand even in difficult times. Because the storm clouds over Europe did not escape them. When World War I broke out in June 1914, the Moser painters moved into the residential and commercial building they had erected in the center of the village of Oberburg. It is still used today as a warehouse and workshop.

The next chapter begins again in turbulent times. During the Second World War, Johann Moser proudly hands over his business to his son in 1943. Hans helps out as his father once did. With perseverance and diligence, he expanded the painting business and made a name for himself in Oberburg as a righteous, experienced craftsman.

But things don't always go according to plan in life. Not even for the Moser painters. In 1979, Hans Moser died unexpectedly. And earlier than planned, his two sons Hans and Christoph, both thoroughbred painters, took control of the company. The two brothers work successfully hand in hand and make a far-sighted decision in 2013: They manage the partnership "H. + Chr. Moser Malergeschäft "to" Moser Maler AG "and thus prepare everything for a successor from outside the family.

The die is cast in 2016. It is a lucky throw. The Moser brothers found the ideal successor in two young, passionate painters: on July 1, 2016, they handed over their business to Marcel Suter (Swiss certified painter and plasterer EFZ) and his wife Tanja Suter (painter EFZ). In the same year, the two opened a new branch in Burgdorf, where they live with their three children.

With the branch in Burgdorf, Marcel and Tanja Suter show that building on tradition does not mean standing still. On the other hand. "For us, tradition is the foundation on which we build," says Marcel Suter. "Thanks to this experience and our expertise, we can always dare and try new things." Today, tradition meets curiosity and a spirit of innovation at Moser Maler AG. A mixture that Marcel and Tanja Suter really like.
