Atelier d'architecture Onze SA directed by M. Ceccaroli In the course of our professional career since graduating in 1980, we have acquired particular experience in the renovation-transformation field.

Renovating a building is a chance to continue and revive a work that already has its architectural and functional coherence. When working on and around an existing building, the architect listens, then enters into a dialogue with the person who designed and built it in the first place. In a way, he slips into his conception, his vision. In this way, the concern for dialogue and the desire to break with the past coexist simultaneously, united in the same unity of thought.

We took part in the renovation-transformation of the Fondation Mont-Calme and the Gymnase Cantonal Auguste Piccard in Lausanne. We renovated and transformed the main building of the Beaulieu Cantonal Gymnasium, which dates back to the beginning of the last century, the Grand Pré secondary school in Prilly, the Saint-Etienne de la Sallaz church and various residential buildings in Lausanne.

Dealing with the theme of housing highlights the social aspect that architecture has a duty to fulfill. In fact, housing cannot be considered without listening to the user, in order to offer him a place that meets his needs, with the possibility of blossoming within his family and social network. The quality of transitional spaces, the recognition of public-private spaces, the hierarchy of paths and the enhancement of natural light are essential elements in bringing out the vibrancy and quality of the home. Sustainable development criteria are integrated into the project's architectural and construction concept, particularly in terms of siting according to local urban and climatic conditions, flexibility of spaces, rationality of structure and choice of materials.
