Berni Davatz AG (Fanas)

20 years ago, on April 1, 1982, our company was founded by Berni in Fanas. At first as a one-man business, with the help of his wife Elsbeth, and then with various temporary workers, we managed to get through the first year.
In March 1983 the first worker was hired, only until the fall, he is still with us today! Thanks to the good order situation, and the wide field of activity, temporary workers from the region could be employed again and again.

When the space in Fanas became too small, we decided in 1986 to enlarge the workshop by a new building or an extension. Thus, the small 36 m² "shack" became a 170 m² workshop, which could be moved into in the summer. But as it goes, there is never enough space, and already in 1991 a warehouse was rented in Schiers, on the Sagastägweg. Today, this is already too small, so that we have our tinsmith's workshop and our roofing magazine at the same location, in the former workshop of Chr.

In 1998 Markus also joined the company. After his apprenticeship as a tinsmith and plumber, he was in Chur and in Bern on his apprenticeship and traveling years. After the master tinsmith school at the training workshops in Bern and the passed master tinsmith exam, he now tries to bring the latest knowledge and techniques into the company.

Since the tinsmith and the roofer are getting closer and closer together and we were often asked about roofing, we decided to start with roofing ourselves. So in the spring of 2001 we hired an additional roofer. Since then we can offer the whole roof from one source, which is surely an important thing for every builder.
