Paul Pfirter & Co AG (Pratteln)

In 1914 Paul Pfirter started out on his own. After completing his years of travel, which had taken him to Hamburg, Paris and Algeria, Paul Pfirter-Roth founded the "Paul Pfirter Painting Studio, Pratteln" in Pratteln in 1914 while on leave from active service. After only a few years, six employees were already working in the young business. By the mid-twenties, the workforce had grown to 15. During the Second World War, the two sons Paul and Franz Pfirter joined the company, which was soon given the suffix "und Co. In the fifties, the workforce doubled and the Frenkendorf and Basel branches were opened.

We are a leading painting company.
In 1975, the largest painting business in the region is converted into a stock corporation. With Felix and Thomas Pfirter, the third generation joins the company soon after. In September 1997 the new company building with the most modern spraying plant. The company moves into the new building at Wannenboden 2 in Pratteln.

In 1999, Stephan Hess came to Pratteln on his travels to the PPP. Freshly certified, he wanted to deepen his knowledge there and gain experience before his next career goal, elsewhere. But the strong ties to the former owners, Felix and Thomas Pfirter, their company philosophy and the values they lived by, such as trust and friendship, were stronger; much stronger than the plan at the time. And so, in 2008, the company was passed on to Stephan Hess by means of an MBO. Today, he and Daniel Pfirter, representative of the third Pfirter generation and Chairman of the Board of PPP, stand for what made the company successful in the competitive paint market: for quality at the highest level, for adherence to deadlines and innovation.

Quality The bar for quality demands is set very high by our employees themselves. Through constant training and further education, we are familiar with the latest standards and want to take on a pioneering role in the market ourselves. Quality is not only controlled by the price, but has to do with the attitude towards the craft.
