Colors accompany us through our everyday lives, but each person perceives color in a very individual way. We are often influenced by fashion trends or theories, but there is one thing above all to keep in mind: the color you choose for your home must please you and your family, because you live with them - so never forget your personal preferences and ideas. The harmony of colors always fascinates me anew. I love all colors - but blue especially, so a few thoughts about it:

The color blue is associated with sky and water. It favors clear thinking and creates a calm, meditative environment. All shades of blue harmonize with each other, but rich browns and earth tones also go very well with it. A muted blue soothes the eye and is great for an office or a quiet living area. Deep blue colors make the room appear much larger and look much brighter. Blue also represents sympathy, harmony, infinity, faithfulness, longing, accuracy, concentration, eternity and truth.

The expression "to make blue" comes from the fact that blue dyeing used to take a relatively long time. For the production of the dye, leaves of the woad were fermented together with human urine in tubs. The fermentation process could be enhanced by adding alcohol. However, since the alcohol was expensive, the dyers drank it in vast quantities, so that the urine was appropriately enriched with it. The fabrics were usually soaked in a bath for at least 12 hours on Sunday. However, the blue color on the fabrics appeared only when they were hung in the air for a long time. The dyers, who lay drunk next to it and waited for the result, were "blue" and "made blue".
